We want to thank you and your staff for the excellent care given to my husband, Joseph R., (2 East.Room 228). As a result of a fall on black ice, he came to Ridgewood from Ascension for therapy on April 17, 2019 and will leave Ridgewood today, May 14, 2019. I apologize for not including the last names of the people I mention. All the staff on 2 East were very good. Especially noteworthy are the following: Nurses Gretchen (2nd shift) and Jane (1st shift). They were outstanding as was our aide, Denise (1st shift). What assets they are to Ridgewood! We also want to mention the following aides who were so helpful: Nellie, Shalene, and Brenda. Also, Perry and Diana (high school students, 2nd shift) were excellent and will make wonderful nurses! Tracy at the desk was also helpful in arranging transportation to doctors' appointments. The room was kept very tidy by the housekeeping crew. Josh and Traci were supberb in the Therapy Department; Joe progressed very nicely with their excellent assistance. Thank you!
I chose Ridgewood Care Center for rehab after my right knee surgery because it was relatively close to my home. My family and friends were able to visit me often. I’m happy with my choice because the staff was so knowledgeable and pleasant. The nurses were experienced and helpful in the care they provided. The physical and occupational therapists got me back on my feet in no time. I also received therapy as an outpatient for three weeks after I was released. The entire staff was very concerned about every patient. Incidentally, the cafeteria served a nice variety of nutritious food. Thanks to the Ridgewood staff, I am able to get around without a cane or a walker, and I am no longer in pain after the knee replacement.
The first time I found out I had to go to a nursing home after my knee replacement, it scared the heck out of me, not knowing what to expect. My time at Ridgewood was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I met some wonderful and caring people. The nursing staff was terrific. The physical therapy was awesome. The therapists knew exactly what to do to make it one of the best memories I have ever had. They did what it took to get me back to doing the things I did before. Thank you Ridgewood.
We were so pleased to have our mom at Ridgewood Care Center. The compassion and concern of the professional staff at this facility gave us a sense of comfort; relieving our stress because we could not be with her everyday during her rehabilitation. We would highly recommend Ridgewood Care Center.
During my 22 days as a resident I learned to walk, dress and got over my fear of falling. As an out-patient I gained back the strength in my left arm. Without the help and care of all those in residence and out-patient therapy, I’m sure I wouldn’t be able to do what I can today. I do appreciate all their help
A: We are a Long Term Care Skilled Nursing facility along with a dedicated wing for Short Term Rehabilitation. The long term care is for those who are no longer able to live at home, senior living or assisted living. Our short term rehabilitation is for those who need strengthening before they go back home or to their assisted living facility after a surgery and/or a hospital stay.
Those who come in for short term rehabilitation are usually covered under Medicare, a Medicare Advantage Plan, or Private Insurance for their stay. Medicare will continue to cover up to 100 days depending on progress, while following Medicare guidelines. The long term care payment source is usually either Private Pay or Medicaid.
Although Racine County Residents are a big part of our population, we have no geographical boundaries for people in need of quality care.
We work with multiple local Hospice agencies to ensure your loved one has the best quality of life while at Ridgewood.
